A reflection on the homeless

Reflections for the day

Philippians 4:19

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:25-34

Do Not Worry

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your lifeAnd why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

When a man has found the Lord, he no longer has to use words when he is praying, for the Spirit Himself will intercede for him with groans that cannot be uttered. –John Climacus

A reflection on the homeless

Heavenly Father,

Thou art the creator of thou world and all that is in it, and thou hath created all things known to Man, and all things unseen by Man. Thou created us to be born with a particular appearance, thou created us to be born with a particular shape, thou created us to be born with a particular colour, and thou created us to be born with a particular size. Thou created all Man to be equal in thou eyes.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that thou loves each and every one of us, and we acknowledge that thou love is one that is all encompassing, and we acknowledge that thou love is one that enables us to love thou with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind and with all our strength. We acknowledge that there art no words to describe thou love for Man, and we acknowledge that thou love for Man is one that is not bound by words, is one that is not bound by time, and is one that is not bound by energy. We acknowledge that thou love for Man is one that over-spills into our relationships, and is a love that enables us to love thou neighbour.

Heavenly Father, it is at this time we desire Man to reflect carefully upon the nature of homelessness. We acknowledge that thou Scriptures reveal that thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, was homeless some of the time, and we acknowledge that thou Scriptures reveal that thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, was with thou homeless some of the time, and was with those who were poor some of the time. We acknowledge that thou Scriptures teach us that thou poor and thou vulnerable are the responsibility of Man, and we acknowledge that thou Scriptures teach us that when a person gives unto thou poor, and when a person gives unto thou vulnerable, that person gives unto thou.

Heavenly Father, it is at this time we uphold to thou the good works of St Mungo’s. We are able to see that this is a charity who works with thou homeless, and we are able to see that there is a desire to help those who are homeless, and we are able to see that there is a desire for the homeless to be housed, and we are able to see that there is a desire for the homeless to work, and we are able to see that there is a  desire for the homeless to be able to relate to others, and we are able to see there is a desire for the homeless to be in a state of health that is described as good.

Heavenly Father, we ask thou to bless the good works of St Mungo’s and we ask thou to place opportunities before many to enable their good works to be carried out in a way that is fitting for thou.

Heavenly Father, it is at this time we ask Man to reflect carefully upon those who are likely to be made homeless, and we hope and we pray that Man will endeavour to remain committed to providing housing for those who are vulnerable, and we hope and we pray that Man will endeavour to remain committed to providing housing for those who are poor, and to provide housing for those who are in need.

Heavenly Father, we ask that Man will turn to thou always, we ask that Man will turn a back on greed, and we ask that Man will turn a back upon ignoring the misfortune of others.

Heavenly Father, thou art a loving Father, and thou art a merciful Father, and thou art able to provide us with all our needs. We desire that Mankind will turn to thou always, and we desire that Mankind will emulate the life of thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and we desire that Mankind will say sorry for the error of a way and make the changes in a life that are necessary.

Heavenly Father, we uphold these words to thou now in thou name of thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us to save us from all our sin, and in thou name of thou Holy Spirit, who lives amongst us, who dwells amongst us, and who advocates for us,now and always, for evermore.

Amen.

A reflection on wealth

Reflections of the day

Matthew 6:24-25

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes?

1 Timothy 6:17-19

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

We look upon prayer as a means of getting things for ourselves; The Bible idea of prayer is that we may get to know God Himself.

A reflection on wealth

Heavenly Father,

Thou art the creator of thou world that we live in, and thou hath created all things known to Mankind, and all things unseen by Mankind. Thou art a loving Father, and thou art a compassionate Father. Thou sent thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, into thou world to save Mankind from all sins, and to show Mankind thou way to thou.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, laid down a life for all, and that by doing so thou made to all Mankind what can be described as an ultimate sacrifice, and that thou sacrifice thou made for Mankind is one that reveals thou love for all, and thou love thou hath for Mankind is one that is there for each and every one of us, and is a love that is all encompassing, and is a love that is not bound by words, and is a love that is not bound by time, and is a love that is not bound by energy. Thou love thou hath for Mankind is one that allows all to love thou, with all of a heart, and with all of a soul, and with all of a mind, and with all of a strength. Thou love that thou hath for all is one that overspills into a relationship, and thou love that thou hath for all is one that allows Mankind to love thou neighbour as thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, loves us all.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that thou Scriptures reveal that during thou life of thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, that thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, cared for thou poor, and that thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, cared for thou needy, and that thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, cared for thou vulnerable.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, revealed in thou Scriptures much about wealth. We acknowledge that wealth is a gift from thou, and is a gift that thou hath entrusted some to use to carry out thou work for another.

Heavenly Father, we are able to see in a way that is clear that thou Scriptures reveal that thou desire is for Mankind to turn to thou always, and that thou desire is for Mankind to have a relationship with thou which is right, and that thou desire is for Mankind to have a relationship with another which is right. We are able to see in a way that is clear that a desire to be wealthy, and a desire to have possessions, beyond what is a need, will be one that will cause some to neglect thou, and will  be one that will cause some to neglect a family, and will be one that will cause some to neglect another. We acknowledge that a desire to serve thou, and a desire to serve wealth, is one that is not compatible.

Heavenly Father, it is at this time we ask thou to guide Mankind in a daily life, and we ask thou to guide many to see that there is a to have a responsibility toward those who are poor, and toward those who are needy, and toward those who are vulnerable. We hope and we pray that those who are blessed with having a wealth that is beyond a need will reflect carefully upon a responsibility to share a wealth with those who are less than fortunate.

Heavenly Father, we are able to see in a way that is clear that what can be described as a preoccupation with wealth is one that is not desirable, and we are able to see in a way that is clear that in order to draw closer to thou, Mankind needs to turn a back on  a thought of wealth.

Heavenly Father, many desire to be thou obedient servant but  fall short in an expectation of thou, and many desire to lay down a life for thou but are reluctant at times, and many desire to be ready to do thou will but are rebellious at times.

Heavenly Father, it is at this time we ask thou to guide many to emulate the life of St Lawrence, a man who spoke of thou poor and of thou needy as a treasure of thou Church. We hope and we pray that many will reflect upon the life of St Lawrence and are able to see in a way that is clear that thou art able to provide all our needs, and that our treasure is one that is of a life that is one that is eternal with thou.

Heavenly Father, we uphold to thouself, Our Heavenly Father, all that hath been spake in thou name of thouself, Our Heavenly Father, and in thou name of thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who together with thou Holy Spirit, reigns on most high, and is, and was, and always will be, the most supreme, and the most absolute power, and being, that governs over all who are of this world that we live in, now and always, for evermore.

Amen.

A reflection on commendation

Reflections for the day

Luke 21:1-4

The Widow’s Offering

As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

Hebrews 10:24

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,

A reflection on commendation

 Heavenly Father,

Thou art a loving Father, and thou art a compassionate Father, and thou loves each and every one of us. Thou love for Mankind is one that is all encompassing, and thou love for Mankind is one that is not bound by words, and thou love for Mankind is one that is not bound by time, and thou love for Mankind is one that is not bound by energy. Thou love for Mankind is one that allows all to love thou with all of a heart, and to love thou with all of a soul, and to love thou with all of a  mind, and to love thou with all of a strength. Thou love for Mankind is one that allows a love for thou to spill over into a relationship, and thou love for Mankind is one that allows all to love thou neighbour.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that thou Scriptures teach Mankind that during thou ministry of thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, that thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, was able to see in a way that was clear a good deed of another. We are able to see in a way that is clear that a good deed of another is one that thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, acknowledged in a way that was public. We are able to see in a way that is clear that thou Scriptures teach Mankind that all should “not hold back good from those to whom it is owing, when it happens to be in the power of your hand to do it.”

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that some feel that an effort goes unnoticed by another. We acknowledge that there are some who feel an effort is one that is not appreciated, and we acknowledge that there are some who feel an effort for another is taken for granted. We acknowledge that there are some who feel unable to live up to an expectation of another.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that thou art a loving Father and that thou loves each and everyone of us, and we hope and we pray that many will turn to thou with a worry, and we hope and we pray that many will turn to thou with a concern always.

Heavenly Father, we are able to see in a way that is clear that thou Scriptures teach Mankind to treat another with a kindness. We are able to see in a way that is clear that a word of kindness to another, and a word that can be described as a commendation to another, is one that is able to uplift another in a way that can be described as spiritual. We are able to see in a way that is clear that for many in the giving of a word of kindness, and in the giving of a word of commendation, that there is an experience that can be described as a feeling of joy and a feeling of contentment.

Heavenly Father, we ask thou to guide Mankind to seek out all that is good in another, and we ask thou to guide Mankind to acknowledge all that is good in another.

Heavenly Father, it is at this time we commend to thou the good works of those who oversee and the good works of those who contribute to what is described as a foodbank. We are able to see in a way that is clear that those who are in receipt of food from a foodbank are thankful, and we are able to see in a way that is clear that for some it is a means of avoiding what can be described as impoverishment.

Heavenly Father, we hope and we pray that Mankind will reflect carefully upon an action, and we hope and we pray that many will do what is seen to be good, and we hope and we pray that Mankind is able to acknowledge a time when a good deed has been done.

Heavenly Father, we uphold to thouself, Our Heavenly Father, all that is spake in thou name of thouself, Our Heavenly Father, and in thou name of thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for Mankind in order to save Mankind from all sins, and to show all thou way to thou, and in thou name of thou Holy Spirit, who lives within Man, and who dwells amongst Man, and who advocates for Man, now and always, for evermore.

Amen.
