A reflection on eternal life

A reflection for the day

2 Chronicles 7:14-15
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.

A reflection on eternal life

Heavenly Father,

We acknowledge that there are times in a life of a self when there is a desire to seek out what is described as a meaning of life. It is at this time of Lent that many will reflect upon a life that is led and many will reflect upon a change that can be made in a life of a self, and we acknowledge that many will, during a period of Lent, give up one or two things that are enjoyed by a self.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge there is a need to make a change in a life in order to draw closer to you. We acknowledge that in order to draw closer to you that all must have a desire, and all must have the will to turn a back on all that is of a concern that is worldly in terms of what can be described as sinful. We acknowledge that much is said in your Scriptures of a relationship that is desired for Mankind by you, and we acknowledge that much is said in your Scriptures of what constitutes a sin.

Heavenly Father, we hope and we pray that many will have a desire to draw closer to you and we hope and we pray that many will have the will to turn a back on all that is of a concern that is worldly, in terms of what can be described as sinful.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that a path toward your light that is eternal is a path that is one that is straight, and is a path that is one that is narrow.

Heavenly Father, we are able to see in a way that is clear that for many a desire will be always there to be at one with yourself in a way that is meaningful. We are able to see in a way that is clear that for some a will to incur a change in the life of a self will be difficult. We ask you to guide Mankind in a life that is daily, and we ask you to guide many who have a desire to draw closer to you, and we ask you to guide many to see a way forward in a way that is clear in terms of incurring a change in a life of a self that is necessary.

Heavenly Father, we uphold to yourself, Our Heavenly Father, all that has been said in the name of yourself, Our Heavenly Father, who together with your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and your Holy Spirit, reigns on most high and sitteth at the right side of you, Our Heavenly Father, now and always, for evermore.

Amen.

  1. I have resolved to eat a more healthy diet because I was becoming lazy and buying ready-made meals from supermarkets. It is not easy just cooking for one person. The programme last night on ITV demonstrated the dangers of this type of menu. I have now rekindled my interest in cooking and have started to feel better. Fresh vegetables and fruit are part of Our Father’s gifts to us and should be used widely. I am in the process of remoulding my life and walking the Christian way of life. It is not easy to give up some of the things that gave us pleasure but were not suitable for the way forward. I ask that Our Father gives me the strength and wisdom to continue on this road
