A reflection on smoking

A reflection for the day

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.
Matthew 26:41

A reflection on smoking

Heavenly Father,

We acknowledge that many are unable to give up smoking, and we acknowledge that many know and that many understand a danger that is associated with smoking, that is a danger to the health of a self, and a danger to the health of another. We are able to see in a way that is clear that what is described as smoke that is second-hand is a smoke that will be breathed in by many.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that many are unable to give up smoking, and we acknowledge that some have a desire to give up smoking, and that some who do smoke are those who smoke on an occasion and are ones who are described as a social smoker.

Heavenly Father, we are able to see in a way that is clear that there is a need to protect all from what is described as a second-hand smoke. We hope and we pray that a law can be enforced that will protect all Mankind from what is described as a second-hand smoke.

Heavenly Father, you are the creator of your world and you have created Mankind, and you have created all living things. You are almighty and you are most powerful, and we praise you for your power, and we praise you for your mightiness. We acknowledge that all Mankind has fallen from a grace that is of yours and that all Mankind has turned a back on yourself at times, and we acknowledge that it is a desire of yours that all Mankind enjoy a relationship with you, Our Heavenly Father, that is meaningful. We hope and we pray that many will be able to see a way forward in a way that is clear, in terms of having a respect for a self, and in terms of having a respect for another.

Heavenly Father, we uphold to yourself, Our Heavenly Father, all that has been said in the name of yourself, Our Heavenly Father, and in the name of your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who together with your Holy Spirit, reigns on most high, and sitteth at the right side of you, Our Heavenly Father, now and always, for evermore.

Amen

  1. Whilst I was working in operating theatres as a nurse, I was well aware of the detrimental effects of smoking when patients were being anaesthetised. I have also seen the actual damage that it conferred on lungs. It certainly made me realise the dangers of smoking. My father had a series of strokes which were directly connected to smoking. I pray that the message gets across to more people.

  2. An amazing article, thanks for the writing.
