A reflection on Lent

A reflection for the day

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.
Matthew 26:41

A Prayer for Lent

Heavenly Father,

It is at this time of Lent that many will reflect upon a time when your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, was in the wilderness. We are able to see in a way that is clear that a time that was spent in the wilderness by your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, was a time that was difficult, and was a time when your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, was able to reflect upon a ministry that is of yours and was a ministry that your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, was to begin following a departure from the wilderness.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that it is at this time of Lent that all must reflect upon a life that is led by a self in terms of what can be described as a stance that is taken by many in relationship to all that is worldly.

Heavenly Father, we hope and we pray that during a period of Lent many will be able to see a way forward in a way that is clear, and that some will be able to see a way forward in a way that is clear, that in order to enjoy a life that is eternal with yourself, that all Mankind will need to reflect upon all sins and all errors of a way that have been committed, and that all Mankind will need to proffer a sorrow for a sin committed and for an error of a way that has been committed, and that all Mankind will need to incur a change in a life of a self that is necessary.

Heavenly Father, we uphold to yourself, Our Heavenly Father, all that has been said in the name of yourself, Our Heavenly Father, who together with your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and your Holy Spirit, reigns on most high and sitteth at the right side of you, Our Heavenly Father, now and always, for evermore.

Amen.

  1. There has been much said about falling numbers attending Church but it is gratifying to hear that, in fact, some are returning to their Church after many years ignoring the faith. I am one of those and have been attending regularly since Christmas and have gradually come to realise what I was missing

  2. Dear Lord – as we approach this time of Lent in our calendar and think of your suffering for our salvation, help us to draw nearer to you. As you have given the gift of eternal life to us, help us in turn to lead others to knowledge of your saving grace – through our lives, through our actions, through our words. Amen

  3. A very good prayer. I like it very much. Its Inspiring and gives an insight of what is meant by observing lent. Thank You
