A reflection for the day on Syria

Reflection for the day

We, one and all of us, have an instinct to pray; and this fact constitutes an invitation from God to pray.

A reflection for the day on Syria

Heavenly Father,

The crisis in Syria has still not been resolved by the United Nations Security Council and by the Arab League. The crisis is such that it is in danger of spiralling out of control. Many of your nations who sit on the United Nations Security Council, and many of your nations that  are with the Arab League, desire to pursue a certain course of action. There is no common agreement for this course of action.

Heavenly Father, we hope and we pray that the United Nations Security Council, under the terms of the Geneva Convention, are able to re-negotiate with those nations who fail to see eye to eye with the United Nations Security Council.

Heavenly Father, we are able to see that many desire for the violence in your nation of Syria to end. We are able to see that many  believe that this is possible. We hope and we pray  for the United Nations Security Council and the Arab League to find a common ground so that all can agree on the same course of action.

Heavenly Father, we uphold to you now all that has been said, in the name of you, Our Heavenly Father, and in the name of your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and in the name of your Holy Spirit, who together with yourself, Our Heavenly Father, and your son, our Lord Jesus Christ, reigns on most high, and is, and was, and always will be, the most supreme and most absolute power and being, that governs all who are of this world that we live in, now and always, for evermore.

Amen.
