A reflection on conquering evil (one of several)
Reflections for the day
Ephesians 4:27
and do not give the devil a foothold.
“The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayer less studies, prayer less work and prayer less religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray.” Samuel Chadwick

A reflection on conquering evil (one of several)
Our Heavenly Father,
Thou art a loving Father and thou art a Holy Father. We acknowledge thou sent thy only Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, into this world to save us from all our sins. We acknowledge that thy Scriptures teach us that much of the ministry of thy Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ was one which can be described as a conflict with evil and we acknowledge that thy Scriptures teach us that the death of thy Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ and the resurrection of thy Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, was one that glorified thy name and was one that overcame evil.
Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that thou are most powerful, and we acknowledge that thou art present always, and we acknowledge that thou art an all-knowing Father and that thou art an all seeing Father, and we acknowledge that thou art in possession of all the facts.
Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that thy Scriptures teach us that thou art all that is holy and we acknowledge that thy Scriptures teach us that Satan is the personification of all that is evil. We acknowledge that thy Scriptures teach us that the world that we live in is one that is tainted by what can be described as evil and that thy Scriptures teach us that we need to always remain vigilant and our vigilance is one that is described as one that is watchful of those influences that are described as less than holy.
Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that thou Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, was tempted by Satan, and the temptation was one that came when he was in the Wilderness, and the temptation was one that came when Our Lord Jesus Christ, was faced with difficulties, and those difficulties were ones that were related to the environment, and those difficulties were ones that were related to the state of his body which was one that was weakened through what can be described as prolonged fasting. Heavenly Father, we ask thou to help us at those times of difficulties when our body and when our mind is weak and we ask thou to help us to turn to thou, always, and we ask thou to help us to emulate the life of thy Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, it is at this time we acknowledge that some of us are tempted and that the temptations we have are ones that are often described as sins and that the temptations we have are those that are seen by some of us as ones that are acceptable. Heavenly Father, we ask thou to guide us in our daily life and we ask thou to help us to recognise the error of our ways, and we ask thou to help us to turn to thou, always, and we ask thou to help us to say sorry for our error and we ask thou to help us to make those changes in our life that we need to make.
Heavenly Father, it is at this time we are able to see that there is much in the media about the payment of taxes and there is much in the media about what is described as the avoidance of the payment of taxes. Heavenly Father, we hope and pray that Man will reflect carefully upon the payment of those taxes and we hope and pray that opportunities are placed before Man to pay those taxes that are due.
Heavenly Father, it is at this time we are able to see that there is much in the media about the internet and that the issues that many are concerned about are ones that are described as an influence and that influence is one that is seen as corrupt. Heavenly Father, we ask that opportunities are placed before many at the International Defence Studies in Estonia and that many will reflect carefully upon the nature of those influences and we hope and pray that the right choices are made to safeguard our security, and we hope and pray that the right choices are made to safeguard our children and young people, from all that is seen to be corrupt.
Heavenly Father, we hope and pray that Mankind will turn his back on evil, we hope and pray that many will turn to thou and we hope and pray that good will overcome evil. Heavenly Father, we ask all of this in the name of thy Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us to save us from all our sins and to show us the way to thou, and in the name of thy Holy Spirit, who lives amongst us and dwells
amongst us, now and always.
Amen.

At this time, when the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Games will be celebrated this year in the UK, it is sad to hear that police and the military are having to draw up plans to defend the ordinary people from terrorist attempts which threaten to disrupt the festivities. Heavenly Father, we pray that thou will protect us from such acts. Amen
